My Story

Chef Oscar Padilla was born in Los Angeles, California, with Mexican heritage. At a young age, he relocated to Mexico where he developed a deep appreciation for traditional cooking styles through observing his grandmother's preparation of Mexican dishes with rich flavors. This experience, combined with growing up surrounded by family and shared meals, led Oscar to pursue a career in the culinary arts.

After studying in Mexico City and working at several prestigious establishments in the capital, Oscar joined the culinary team at The Club de Banqueros, a renowned dining institution known for its high-quality products and exceptional culinary talent. It was there that he established a reputation for himself as a standout chef.

Oscar's passion for new culinary experiences took him to New York, where he worked with renowned chefs and continued to build his career. He caught the attention of Celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval, who was impressed by Oscar's bold flavors and friendly personality. With Chef Sandoval, Oscar embarked on a journey that led him to open numerous restaurants and train culinary teams around the world, from Costa Rica to Dubai, and from Doha to Chicago. Throughout his travels, Oscar has imparted his passion for good food and bold flavors to the next generation of chefs.

Chef Oscar Padilla was recently named the winner of the popular Food Network show "Chopped" and he is thrilled to be part of such a renowned program and to have the opportunity to showcase his culinary skills on national television.

In his personal life, Oscar is a devoted husband and father of two children, who enjoys spending time with his family and exploring unique dining destinations. Chef Oscar adheres to a humble kitchen philosophy, “Practice humility and to never be shy with the salt”
